Daisy Granny Square Crochet Pattern

  1. Begin with a magic ring (Color A):
    1. Make a magic ring, ch 1 (counts as first stitch). 7 sc into the ring. Sl st into the first ch, pulling ring tight.
    2. Cut yarn, leaving a tail

2. Round 1: Flower petals (Color B)

On the fourth dc, pull the loop long (without pulling out the stitch) and take your hook out. Insert your hook into the top ch of the ch 3 and pull the loop you just made from the last double crochet through the chain (this will be your first petal) See photo below. Ch 2
  2. Insert your hook into the next sc stitch, 5 dc into the same stitch, then repeat the process of pulling the loop up, taking your hook out of the stitch, inserting into the first double crochet of the cluster and pulling the loop through the stitch. Ch 2.
    • Repeat step B until you have a total of 8 petals.
  3. Slip stitch into the ch3 stitch.
  4. Cut yarn

3. Round 2: Granny Stitch Shaping (Color A)

  1. Attach color A to one of the ch 2 spaces. Ch 3 (counts as first dc). Dc 2 into the same space, ch 3, then dc 3 into the same space. Ch 1
  2. Skip to the next ch 2 space. DC 3 into the same space. Ch 1
  3. Skip to the next chain 2 space. Repeat steps A and B until you reach the first DC and sl st.

4. Round 4 & On: Increasing square size

  1. Continue following the same pattern from round 2 (DC3, Ch3, DC3 in corners and DC3 in side stitches with ch1 in between) to increase the size of the granny square until you reach the desired size.
